I'm just getting into making ice cream at home and after doing weeks of exhaustive research, including probably 100 hours of YouTube videos (I know, I have a problem, but the research is for me a big part of the fun), I was ready to set my budget at between $200 and $400 for a compressor ice cream machine.
Then I ran across this Dash My Cup Set. I returned to YouTube and after just a few videos I decided that for a small fraction of my initial budget I could "get my feet wet" with the My Cup. Another deciding factor was that the Freezer Mugs were small enough to not sacrifice too much of my freezer space.
I've made several batches of ice cream using both the included recipes and some I have found online and I must say, the results have been fabulous. Sure the finished ice cream right out of the machine is a soft serve consistency but after a couple of hours in the freezer you will have ice cream firm enough to form excellent scoops. Just be sure to follow good recipes otherwise you may end up with ice cream hard as a rock. So learning a bit about the science of ice cream is critical for good results. Although the portion size is small, it's actually bigger than I expected. I'm an ice cream lover and sure, polishing off the entire batch in one sitting is no problem but, I am definitely satisfied with the amount. And if you opt for the Set with the extra mug, you'll always have a mug ready for your next batch. Definitely the way to go in my opinion.
The My Mug is very well made (as are most of the Dash products of which I have an Egg Cooker and a Waffle Iron) and the motor will turn the dasher through the thickest of recipes. If you overload with mix-ins it might run into difficulties but otherwise you're good to go.
Will the My Mug be the "end game" ice cream machine? Probably not. But for a small investment I can experiment with different recipes and see where this new found hobby takes me. And even if I do get a larger, fancier and more expensive machine in the future, I will probably keep the My Mug anyway to test out new flavors. This way I can see what I like without wasting too many ingredients.

This thing is small but mighty. I was going to buy a more expensive ice cream maker but I’m glad I didn’t. This is so easy to use and it works great. Put your mixture in the cup and let run for about 20 minutes and you have ice cream.

I have not used this ice cream maker yet, but I love it so far. I love that it is small enough to fit in my freezer, and I can make small amounts of ice cream or frozen fruit slushies, or anything frozen without having to make large amounts. I also like that it does not depend on a handle to hold the lid in place like my previous ice cream maker, because the handle broke and rendered it useless. It was priced quite well, maybe not as well as my Salton, but then again, the Salton broke. Once I use this one, I'll come back here and update my review.

After the ice cream is the consistency you desire, it helps to put it in another container and put it in the refrigerator freezer for about a 1/2 hr because it melts really fast. It's a little messy pouring the mixture into the machi be but is manageable. The instructions has two ice cream recipes, but they aren't the standard vanilla & chocolate which would be nice to have as well. Over all it's a good product. I recommend the machine to a single person who would want the treat quickly and to follow instructions closely.

You don't need much idle usage of counter space or cabinet space to store the only parts that don't stay in the freezer all the time( that is if you keep the tub in there in case you might make ice cream on the spur of the moment). The other parts that don't go in the freezer are much smaller and easier to put away. The clear top even detaches to be cleaned.

I love this ice cream maker. It not only works great it's the perfect size and easy to use and clean. I was hesitant to try it because of the negative reviews but I'm glad I didn't listen to those people and just gave it a try. I put very little effort into using it and it turned out great every time. Not sure why some people had problems with it or if it was just user error or inability to follow directions. But i found it super easy to use and very versatile. I put the mug/bowl in the freezer for 2 days first to make sure it was sufficiently cold. The first thing i made was simple vanilla ice cream using the recipe in the book (although i didn't even measure exact amounts, i just guessed and eyed it). Poured the milk/cream/sugar combo in and let it go for about 25 minutes. Poured in some chocolate syrup in at the end and had myself some yummy perfect chocolate ice cream. It was on the softer side which is how i prefer ice cream so it was perfect for me. Also i noticed if you eat out of the frozen bowl it stays cold longer and if you push the ice cream around to the sides as you're eating it, it continues to freeze and harden. Transferring it to a different container will only make it melt faster. The second thing i made was a fruit sorbet sort of thing. I did this last minute with no plan and it turned out great. It was super hot and i was making a fruit smoothie, then decided to pour my smoothie into the ice cream maker to see what would happen. It was literally just bereies, juice and a little milk. After 25 minutes this turned into a fruity iced treat that was super delicious and perfect on a 90 degree day. The next thing i tried was putting in yogurt mixed with milk and juice and this turned out as a creamy mix between ice cream and iced slushy. I'm amazed at all the different creations you can make with this thing and how simple it is to use. Also clean up is quick and easy which i like. Having 2 bowls seems like the best idea, especially for a single person, as you always have one in the freezer ready to use. This makes the perfect amount for one person but it can make enough for 2 even in one bowl. This is a great product especially for the price. Glad i didn't get one of those expensive ice cream makers that probably doesn't even work as well. If you have been wanting to make your own ice cream or iced/cold treats/concoctions, then give this a try. Don't listen to the negative reviews because this thing is awesome and works great! So glad I finally got one.

After washing (very easy) and putting both mugs in the freezer for a day, I was very impressed with the outcome. I love that it comes with two mugs so you can freeze one and trade them out if you like making ice cream daily. Or, of course, if you're sharing ice cream with a friend.
I made vegan ice cream by putting gluten free oatmeal into the coffee grinder and making it into flour. Then I cooked the oat flour in a little water to make a very soft paste.
After it completely cooled down, I added vanilla soy milk and mixed until it was a thick liquid.
I added it to the ice cream cup and when it looked fluffy, I added mini chocolate chips and let it continue churning.
It was so so so good! This can be made easily right next to your bed, recliner, anywhere. It's so easy to use and clean. I wish I had this sooner!

This little ice cream makers are about the simplest I found they don't really get your ice cream past thick Shake texture but then you just stick them in the freezer a couple hours and voila. You can make all kinds of sugar free ice cream with monk fruit and stevia. I use Greek yogurt to get extra protein and it just tastes like awesome Frozen yogurt. I just put the frozen berries and Greek yogurt in my blender then I put them in the ice cream maker and they're already half Frozen so it's very fast to get an end result. Much healthier ice cream when you make it yourself, and especially if you go sugar free.

I order two sets of the Mug Ice Cream makers for my husband and me. The ice cream froze in the mugs in about 20-24 minutes. I made one mug with Almond milk, half and half, 1/4 cup of sugar and about 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. My husband loved it. Mine was made with Almond milk, half and half, a little less than 1/4 cup of Stevia and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.
My mug froze quicker, a little less than 20 minutes. You don’t get a heaping of ice cream per serving. but it’s a good serving. Well worth the money for sure!!

I love this ice cream maker! It’s fast and not a big bulky thing that takes up a bunch of freezer space. It comes with 2 freezer mugs so when I use one I put the other in the freezer to be ready for the next time.
Though it may be a negative for some, I love the size of the mug. It’s just enough for two people - or one if you really are an ice cream lover like me - and you can eat it right out of the mug. Clean up is a quick and easy. Another thing that some may not like (but I do) is that the consistency of the finished ice cream is similar to soft serve and if you want more of a hand packed consistency, you need to freeze it longer. I’m a soft serve person so it works well for me.
It comes with a recipe booklet but the possibilities of use are endless. I freeze flavored ice milk mixes, juice, smoothies, yogurt, etc. and don’t feel guilty about my ice cream indulgence!

Small but mighty. Great single serve ice cream maker. With the one recipe I've tried so far it makes a little less than a cup, but to be honest the more I make, the more I'll eat. Definitely read the instructions prior to using it as they are helpful. Everything is pretty self explanatory and within 24hrs after opening I was eating soft serve ice creme. The 2nd pic is once it's finished (with marshmallows) so def. not ice creme consistency, which I don't mind. The only thing I would say is that the recipes themselves are a bit cumbersome for the qty of ice cream you are making. Just to make the chocolate one I needed to heat up two different sauce pans and at least 4 different small dishes to hold everything and a fine mesh strainer. The dishes piled up quickly so I'll probably make a few batches at at time to make it worthwhile and store in the fridge. All in all worth the money if you are big ice cream fan!

Easy. This is the first time I have ever made ice cream, and I'm 71 years old.
I was wondering if I could make diabetic friendly ice cream using Glucerna.
Last summer I made fudgesicles by freezing Glucerna in popsicle molds, but the texture wasn't right.
I ordered the Dash My Mug Ice Cream Maker Bundle. After reading some reviews I learned that creamy texture depends on high fat content. So I bought heavy cream to add to the Glucerna.
The Dash ice cream maker came with recipes. I used the no cook vanilla recipe as a guide and used 1/3 cup cream and 1/3 cup Glucerna. In 20 minutes we had diabetic friendly ice cream! It's delicious. (Built in portion control) Win. Win.

Just received ice cream maker a few days ago. I mixed up a quart of drained whole milk yogurt with 1/2 cup whipping cream, 2/3 c of sugar and a tbsp of brown rice syrup. Added chopped nuts, chocolate and raisins to first batch, Kahlua and mole bitters to second and will try chopped cherries and vanilla extract in the third. I have had excellent results so far. I do find that it is difficult to pour the mix through the chute. Unlike the liquid mixture for ice cream, the yogurt is too thick to pour in easily. I might add more cream to next batch.

Love this item I've been on a new life adventure to get healthy and was as heavy as 437 im down to 298 and was just getting bored of.constantly eating healthy and finding my self struggling to keep eating the protien yogurts it ends up getting boring then I found this item bought it and is a very nice way to feel like your indulging and mixing things up also the wife and child love making actually ice cream with it and they have been using the recipe book to try new creations! I find i enjoy the texture of just simply putting the protien yogurt in and letting it go its not prefect smooth but following the recipes in the book it.comes with texture is perfect I just always leave the cups in the freezer so there always ready when I want them . I have noticed if I dont add the yogurt as the paddle is spinning I do get a little freeze up on the side of the cup but the directions say to add in while the paddle is spinning sometimes I do sometimes I dont. So far no issues after 40 batchs sense buying durability seems to.be a plus. And I feel its a good value

So this may be a long read but I think it will be the most honest review I've done, and totally worth it.
We got this for one of our daughters Christmas gift. She is 13 and absolutely loves to bake, cook, and create all things from the kitchen to crafts and art. She is a perfectionist.
I thought it looked cute and creative for a young teen who is very creative but feared it would get boring quickly. In the middle of making our first try, we should probably really double up or even load up on batches because the directions keep expressing the longer the better, that's very true.
We followed our first batch with the recipe in the book for the chocolate to a T. When the least amount of time recommended, we churned for 23 minutes and the consistency was like thick icing and we put the whole batch in one cup (we were impatient) and churned it for 23 minutes.
We put it back in the freezer but added some whipped cream like 2 large spoon full, and put it back in the freezer for another hour and it was less potent and more soft scoop ice cream. The longer we kept it in, the better it got.
In the meanwhile, we made big batches of different flavors like chocolate peanut butter, vanilla, cookies n cream, strawberry swirl with cheesecake, and put them in containers. The longer you wait, the better. Its having the patience of timing it, being creative, and patience. This is a lot of fun and the flavors and texture is surprisingly wonderful! Creamy with a little ice chilled to it. Totally get what you pay for. Id love to buy extra cups with lids to have these little treats on demand. Once you get started, you want more! This is totally worth the wait! Date night ice cream for sure!

I have a Breville Ice Cream machine but after the first summer, i just couldnt bring myself to lug it out, especially because i dont really eat large portions of ice cream.
This is perfect for myself and my husband. I make the batter and just put the whole machine in the freezer, not even worrying about prefreezing.
Starting with a cold bowl and cold batter leads to as good results as my 450 dollar machine. Creamy without noticable ice crystals. However I use it ad hoc, often with hot batter from making starch thickened ice cream, and the texture is still decent.
Honestly the only way this could be better is if they made it with stainless steel, because the nonstick coating scratches really easily, which makes me uneasy. Nonstick doesnt even help because the "sticking" problem comes from the edges freezing solid.

Easy to make delicious ice cream.
Pros-ice cream is churned and ready to eat in 20 minutes.
Easy to clean. Just a quick hand wash of bowl, lid and paddle.
Fantastic taste. Much better than store bought with nothing but what you put in it.
Cons-it can churn 3/4 cup at a time. So if your like me you want more there isn't any. I knew this and choose the small version on purpose so I couldn't eat more.
A little noisy but not bad. The video makes it seem louder than it is.
You do have to plan ahead. Make your ice cream base and chill it. Also the mug has to freeze atleast 24 hrs. I didn't find this to be a issue. I store the mugs in the freezer. If I plan to have ice cream for dessert, I make my base in the morning and refrigerate it. Than I churn the ice cream while I'm making dinner. 20 minutes later it's done. I freeze it while we eat and it's ready for after dinner. So it's not as easy as just going to your freezer and taking out a pint of ice cream and eating it. You do have to plan ahead. It's worth the extra effort to have fresh ice cream you made yourself. It's a great beginner ice cream maker. Oh and don't use a metal spoon, always use a rubber spatula or you will scratch your mug like i did.

They've expressed that it has been easy to use/easy to clean, and freezes well. They have used it repeatedly so I know they enjoy using it, it isn't too complicated, and it works well. I've also tried the ice cream they've made and it was delicious an rich vanilla. I love that this set allows for the option to make two different flavors with the two cups. I don't think they have tried making multiple flavors yet, I know if my husband and I had these that we would both be experimenting with different flavors from the ingredients we have at home!

This system works great! I have long wanted an ice cream maker for my home, but have hesitated due to appliance size, and difficulty in cleaning. When I came across this ice cream maker, I was skeptical. The process seemed too easy, the pieces of the system seemed too small, and clean up seemed too simple. But, for the low price, I figured it was worth a try. I am not disappointed! I am actually quite impressed! The maker came with a clear and simple booklet of instructions with recipes for multiple flavors of ice cream. When I follow the instructions as written, I am able to turn out a delicious, creamy ice cream that is full on flavor. It is a multi-step process that requires chilling the bowls in the freezer at least a day ahead of time. When it is ice cream making time, one bowl is removed from the freezer at a time, filled with ingredients, and churned for 20-25 minutes. The ice cream is ready to eat at this time, and will be the consistency of soft serve. For a firmer ice cream (my preference), the bowl goes back into the freezer for a couple of hours. I used to cover the bowls with plastic wrap, but have since invested a few dollars into an optional accessory for this system, silicone lids that fit over the bowls. The difference in taste between this homemade ice cream and store-bought is distinct! The cream and sugar in the homemade ice cream stands out in a wonderful way. Additionally, it takes just four ingredients to make the vanilla ice cream recipe: sugar, skim milk, heavy cream, and vanilla. The included recipe book also has dairy-free and vegan recipe options.

This product is perfect for a specific type of customer. If you are single, or perhaps a family 2, and you are concerned about portion control, this ice cream maker is perfect. It's especially great for people who are watching their weight and would prefer not to keep quarts of ice cream in the freezer and would rather make it on demand if you have a craving for it. I froze the cup for 24 hours, then used 1/4 a cup of "FrostLine" brand vanilla ice cream mix with 1 cup of Half & Half. I started the machine, and about 25 minutes later, had delicious soft serve. I ate half of the soft serve, and put the cup with the remaining soft serve in the freezer for about 30 minutes, and it hardened up a lot. I am very happy with this purchase. My only complaint is that it is VERY loud while it's blending. I actually moved it to another room and shut the door because it was interfering with my peace. The noise was annoying, but it was an easy fix to simply move it to another room to process. My favorite thing about this product is its VERY small footprint. I loathe large kitchen appliances. It is a tiny thing and is a great option for smaller kitchens or RVs, as long as you have a regular full-size freezer that operates at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. I would 10 out of 10 recommend to someone with a similar lifestyle/preferences as myself.

This ice cream maker worked great for me, so far for vanilla ice cream, cookies & cream (smashed some Oreos and added them) and for a self-created fruit smoothie turned into a sorbet.
The complaint some people seem to have is the ice cream is too soft. I have a tip for that, as mine wasn't even close to soft, although my tip won't work for everyone. I have a chest freezer, and it gets probably 20 degrees colder than my freezer compartment of my kitchen fridge. I know this b/c I can scoop ice cream easily out of the carton when it comes out of my fridge-freezer, but if I take it directly out of my chest freezer, it's a challenge. So, my mugs went into the chest freezer and they get really cold, and make great ice cream. However, if you have a regular kitchen model, I am sure you could just pop the cup back in the freezer when it is done mixing and it would stiffen up some.
This item is extremely easy to use, and a breeze to clean up. I remember making home made ice cream w/ the bucket of ice and rock salt. Great taste, but a pain to make. This simplifies all of that, at a reasonable price. I'd say each cup makes about 2 servings, but I have pigged out and ate a cup by myself as well.

I was able to make vegan ice cream without any issue and the end result was perfect honestly. Whenever I buy storebought I typically leave in the fridge to soften it up so this consistency is literally perfect for me. I did churn it a LITTLE too much and it got a little too frozen, I'll chalk that up to recipe difference since I based mine on their simple vanilla ice cream recipe.
I used 1/3 cup plant based heavy cream, 1/3 cup extra creamy oat milk (unsweetened would be healthier and probably wouldn't change much honestly, going to try that today), 1.5 tsp of Bob's Red Mill egg replacer with 1 tbsp of water, I stacked 2 tbsp of splenda, 2 tbsp of stevia, and 2 tbsp of monk fruit sweetener instead of sugar, and then I used 1/8 tsp of three different white chocolate flavorings (The Flavor Apprentice, Flavorah, and Flavor West). I couldn't have asked for a more delicious white chocolate ice cream, not sure why you don't see this flavor much because I absolutely love it. The texture with this one is better than store bought honestly, super happy with this and will probably buy more since I have so many flavorings to experiment with now.
Edit: I'm getting better with my recipe... the green ice cream here is a green apple skittle ice cream made with skittles singles to go, unsweetened extra creamy oat milk, coconut milk powder, guar gum, and an array of artificial sweeteners in smaller quantities to avoid getting a weird taste. Texture is so perfectly smooth, couldn't be happier with this thing. Don't be put off by my first pic lol

I truly am not a big ice cream fan but decided to try this one after seeing some videos online about it. Let me tell you - I used it so much in the first two weeks that I had to put it away and hide it! I have made many different types of ice cream using half and half milk (or even different types of protein drinks) and adding 2 tbsp. instant pudding before churning. It does turn out right if you follow the manufacturer's directions. In 20 minutes you can have thick sift serve ice cream. Some of my favorite experiments: 1. Half & half with instant Cheesecake pudding mix and vanilla extract, topped w cherry pie filling (omg good)
2. Half & half w instant vanilla pudding dry mix and vanilla - amazing
3. Cafe latte protein drink + chocolate pudding mix tasted like a Jamocha shake!
4. Cookie dough protein drink + instant vanilla pudding and vanilla extract. Mixed in very small amount of chopped pecans when it was done.
I have so many more ideas to try, but need to stop myself for awhile, lol.
If this machine broke tomorrow, I would immediately buy another.

The cost of ice cream is over $6 in CA now. With this machine I am able to start making it while it takes me 30 mins to find something to watch on TV!!! There a many recipes that you can make on the spot, no cooking or waiting required. I will fill up both mega mugs at a time, so I always have ice cream ready to go. Plus it is super fun to make and very satisfying to watch go round and round and round. It isn't very loud and super cute color.

Easy instructions and functions so simple a 8 year old can operate it. The ice cream is hit or miss - tastes more like old fashioned snow cream which we loved. Durable - just remember to buy the covers by another company to put onto the mugs. The paddle? Keep an eye out for it! You will lose or misplace it!
My only complaint? I truly wish they included 2 paddles. Customer service is a nightmare to replace the paddles. I gave up on trying to get a second one and was going to try to find one that fit? If not? I was throwing it away. I lucked out & found it! But the company needs to advertise a spare paddle & additional mugs. Otherwise my experience would have been perfect.

I bought this ice cream maker and wasn't expecting it to work. I read the instructions and the recipes it came with; the rocky road recipe particularly caught my eye. I made the ice cream following the recipe’s instructions and chilled it for 2-3 hours (prior to freezing the ingredients, I froze the cup by itself for 24 hours.) I didn’t like adding any extra toppings, so I just added the chocolate ice cream I made to the mug. I churned it for 15-20 mins, and I got the most smooth and creamy consistency of ice cream! I like soft serve so I didn’t freeze it for extra time. When I tasted this chocolate ice cream, my tastebuds felt as if they were flying! This chocolate ice cream was the best chocolate ice cream I’ve had in my life! I would say, it’s a little pricey, but, in my opinion, it’s worth it for the memories you’ll make! In addition, I didn’t see any instructions on how to clean it, so I let it sit out at room temperature for 12 hours and washed it afterwards. In conclusion, this is an amazing product you should try if you want good tasting ice cream in 24 hours; if you want ice cream faster than that, you should buy one of the more expensive ice cream makers.

This little gem is great for a single person who wants to make ice cream. You have to freeze the mugs first 24 to 48 hours but worth it! I got basic recipes online for vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc. So easy to use. Comes out consistency of soft serve, but you can cover and freeze the finished ice cream for an hour for harder ice cream. I can't wait to try the many combinations I have been thinking of over the summer - fresh ice cream with no preservatives and no standing in line at ice cream shop!!! So glad I decided to get this item!!!

Very happy with this little dash ice cream maker. I ordered it with two of the bowls so that I'd have one in the freezer all of the time. I had a Cuisinart and sent it back because for the money I just wasn't that impressed. But this little guy is a work horse. I put too much in it which was my bad. Apparently it only holds about a cup and I probably put a cup and a quarter maybe even a cup and a half. But it's still made the ice cream a little stiffer than what I would call soft serve. I was very happy with it I didn't have to put it in the freezer to get it more solid, but of course you can do that if you like. I made coffee ice cream, and it was delicious. I use an artificial sweetener, and it was still delicious. I don't think you would be disappointed.

This is a perfect little machine. I am single and it makes just the right amount of ice cream. Unfortunately, if I buy ice cream it doesn't last because I eat it. So with this Dash Mug, I make about a cup of ice cream and that's it - I'm not eating a pint or a quart. I know what's in it and I can make whatever I want. I have been using a little cream, a little Torani syrup and some 2% milk. I have also used Carnation Breakfast Essentials mixed with the milk and cream. The more cream you use, the more creamy result. The directions say to run it for 20 minutes. I haven't done that yet. As soon as it looks like soft serve, I stop it and it's delicious. Having the two mugs is good because I can rotate them and have a very well chilled mug every day. Very happy with this purchase.

I read the reviews and I gave a lot of thought before I bought it. So the first time I used it it was in the freezer for two days. And I thought
be too soft so I put my mixture in the freezer about 30 minutes before I made my first batch. I shouldn’t have done that because it stuck to the side real bad. But the second time I made it I just put it in the refrigerator like they said and it turned out real good. I didn’t really use a certain recipe. I took things from different recipes I found online and tried that and it worked really good. I am glad I ordered it. I believe it works like I expected it too. I even ordered the lids that go with it so that I can store what I don’t eat. ( lol, although don’t see me saving any for later)The firmness of the ice cream is great.

I've used this every day this week for making frozen yogurt at the end of the day. I blend fruit (fresh), Greek yogurt, a small amount of coconut milk, almond extract, and sugar in my blender then put it in the fridge to chill till the evening. In the evening, I put together the paddle and motor and plastic bowl cover with chute. I then get out the mug that's been in there for 2 days (I alternate using the 2 mugs) and pour the fruit and yogurt mixture in. I start the paddle going and let it sit on the counter for up to 10 min. Then I use a silicone cake frosting spatula to scoop the soft serve style froyo into a container and then pop it in the freezer for about 5-10 min then eat some. I generally make about 2 cups worth in one mug and it's a little softer than I'd like so freezer it goes. When it comes out of the freezer it's perfect. Really worth it. May not be fancy but much healthier and honestly delicious. I add sprinkles or chocolate chips and whipped cream if I am feeling fancy.

I love love love this little Dash My Mug Ice Cream Maker. It's perfect if youre on a keto diet. Keto pints of ice cream in the grocery store are expensive. So this will save me money too! I'm on my third batch, and since I purchase the 2 mug option I'll be making the 4th batch right after! I'm going to make so many wonderful fun flavor combos! It makes two 1/2 cup servings at a time. It does make soft serve style, so if you like your ice cream a little firmer, put in a freezer safe sealable container and set it in the freezer for a couple of hours. If you like it softer, eat it right out of the mug! I have nothing bad to say about this adorable little ice cream maker! Just freeze the mugs for at least 24 hours, mix your ice cream recipe, and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before. Follow the instructions, and make yourself whatever decadent yummy flavors you can dream up! Happy ice creaming!

Works really well. This is great for when you want 1 or 2 servings of a little frozen yogurt or other frozen treat. Happy with this purchase.

These worked great!! I was surprised at how it could make beautifully creamy ice cream and it only took 15 min. (After putting the bowl in the freezer 24 hrs).
I got these because I wanted to incorporate healthy yogurt into my daily diet and can’t eat yogurt unless it’s frozen. :D
I will say I returned them because I realized I can make fro-yo fudge pops by just mixing it up and freezing it in a popsicle container. And wanted to save my money if I could find another way to eat yogurt.
But definitely get this if you like it in the form of creamy scoop-able ice cream.
The recipe I use:
1 cp plain Greek yogurt
2 tbsp baking cocoa
3 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
(Skip cocoa if you want vanilla flavored and can even add mix ins)

The cups freeze up nicely. Seems to hold that freeze for a while. I have not noticed any leaking. The recipes are ok. Ingredients are easy to find. The power of the motor seems decent. I think overall, it has taken it about 20-30 minutes to get a decent ice cream consistency. It’s a cute little thing and works well for a quick small cup of ice cream. I think it’s worth buying.

I bought this to make healthy low cal/carb frozen yogurt, although it took me a few try’s to get it right. 3/4cp Greek yogurt, tbl of 1/2 & 1/2 a few teaspoons of stevia and what ever flavoring I want (I use no calorie coffee syrups). I blend in a bullet blender, then taste and adjust sugar/flavor, consistency should allow it to flow (add more 1/2 & 1/2 if needed). I keep my bases in a chest freezer which is way colder than a fridge/freezer. Make sure to assemble and turn on the ice cream maker before adding the yogurt mix or it will bind. I add nuts, dark chocolate chunks or fruit bits right away to let them incorporate evenly. Once its to the consistency I like, I quickly transfer the contents to a regular bowl, otherwise it starts crystallizing. The serving size is just right for me, the consistency and flavor are great. And I can make whatever flavor I want rather than having to take what’s in the freezer.

I loved this so much I bought a second one. We keep the mugs in the deep freeze, follow the manufacturer’s directions and our ice cream turns out perfectly. It is just the right amount for one person and the endless ability to choose your own flavor and add-in combinations is fantastic. We have some special diet requirements in our home, and this little jewel makes it possible to satisfy those requirements while enjoying a fun treat. Now for the official stuff, it isn’t overly noisy to me, but yes I does make some noise. The mugs are nicely weighted and the rubber grips on the bottom hold the whole thing in place while it is churning. Clean up is a breeze, just follow the manufacturer’s suggestions. This truly is one of my favorite things.

Yesterday I tried it using the vanilla recipe slightly altered to make chocolate and I put a few drops of strawberry extract in it it was really rich and tasted really good but the texture was a little off so I tried making it using chocolate milk today instead of using the cocoa powder and sweetener separately and see if that made the texture better it did not I also put peppermint extract in there today and it was way too much yesterday I felt like the strawberry extract I didn't add enough for it to really be noticeable in the flavor but today I put about the same amount of peppermint in there and it overpowered it so I'm still learning but I enjoy it

I like to make homemade soymilk with dates so I got the idea one day to put the liquid in this dash ice cream maker. One of the other reviewers recommended putting the dash ice cream maker in a deep freezer for longer periods of time than the dash instructions suggest so I did that. Soymilk tends to be a bit gritty depending on how little you filter it but with the dash ice cream maker (and putting the bowls in the deep freezer) I put barely filtered soymilk into the bowls with sole vanilla extract (for flavor) and made really delicious ice cream. It tasted better than store bought soymilk and because of the icey ice cream texture, the grittiness that usually accompanies unfiltered/barely filtered soymilk wasn’t an issue. It just felt like ice cream or rather a non-dairy frozen dessert. I’ll definitely make it again and try adding some toppings. Also with the deep freezer method-I think I left the bowls in the deep freezer for 2 days before I actually got around to using them-the bowls were still cold after making the ice cream (20 min wait) so I probably could have made a second batch of ice cream in the same bowl. I’ve used the dash ice cream maker a few times now and can honestly say it’s cut down on our trips to the store for ice cream during this hot summer.

I got this ice cream maker as a birthday gift for my husband Joey, and we’ve used it constantly since. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and the results are delicious every single time. We’ve already experimented with a few recipes — classic vanilla, strawberry, even a maple bourbon one — and everything has come out smooth and creamy.
The motor is quiet, the parts feel sturdy, and the design is simple enough that we didn’t even need to overthink it. We just keep the bowl in the freezer and pull it out when inspiration (or a craving) hits.
It’s become a fun little ritual for us, and honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever go back to store-bought pints. Highly recommend if you want to feel like a dessert wizard with minimal effort. A great value for the money!!

I love this little thing. The size isn't just about portion control (though for one person, that's nice). The smaller area also freezes the icecream better than one of the large ones, and the cups themselves freeze more quickly in your freezer. I've found I can't just add a smaller amount to a larger device for portion control, because it will either freeze to ice too quickly or not at all.
But these freeze so well, I just made a mixture of Kiefer, dairy free yogurt, some Xilytol sweetener, and frozen raspberries (pictured). My larger drum icecream maker would never have frozen that mixture because the yogurt doesn't have enough fat. I used to have to add quite a lot of whipping cream to that large drum to make it the right consistancy. These are also so small, on a hot day, I stick it in the fridge while it's turning the icecream just to help keep everything cool.

So I bought this skeptical. How good could this be right? Oh man. So I broke the first set of directions. Let it freeze for 24 hours. I lasted 12 before I decided my deep freezer is more freezer ish than a freezer. I wasn't entirely wrong. I successfully made a decent soft serve/thick milkshake consistency creation with just some chocolate milk. I'll admit, I don't recommend this. It wasn't very tasty.... Best second part of this is it comes with two bowls and thus, a second take on making ice cream in my bedroom with my husband as we hide from children!!!!

We had a large version of this years ago but the bowl is so big it took up too much space in the freezer. When I saw this I knew I had to have it. My husband loves to make ice cream or frozen pudding, or slushies with fresh fruit. The single serve bowl can stay in the freezer without taking up too much room. This means you don't really have to plan ahead and can make a frozen treat spur of the moment. Be aware, much like the big version, this will not completely freeze your ice cream. You will still have to put it in the freezer after it's been mixed for it to fully firm up.

Our family's new favorite ice cream maker! We make a larger batch of ice cream base and keep it in the fridge to make fresh ice cream a little at a time. It is really easy to use, even for older kids. I wouldn't recommend a younger child use on their own, but they could easily use it with supervision! The portions are perfect. We haven't had any problems with ice cream not getting done. We'll even stop the maker when it's still soft and stir it around with a spoon and it will get even firmer. We love the versatility of each person making their own flavor ice cream and have saved lots of money vs going to the ice cream store.

I read reviews of this prior to purchase and had concerns about the ability to chill anything into ice cream. However I think it may be poor effort on those individuals part.
I keep a cup in the freezer until ready to use. I aim to have the mixture i’m making into ice cream cold before putting in the cup. I put the top on and let it work for about 20 min and am very happy with the result.
If you want rock hard ice cream, then this isn’t for you, but fresh soft serve like homemade ice cream usually is..it’s great.

Easy to use ! I have made two bowls of soft serve style ice cream by doing nothing more than cleaning, freezing, assembling, and turning on the device per the instructions. All I did was pour in the allotted amount of store brand chocolate milk - flavoring one bowl with a sprinkle of malted milk mix and adding mint flavoring to the other. I will experiment later with other liquids and flavors or toppings. I can see this being a great item for the kids to learn to experiment with 'cooking' on their own.

For my first attempt, I made an oat milk oreo ice cream! I followed the instructions and left the bowl in the freezer for 24 hours, when I took it out and turned it on I added 1/2 cup of oat milk and 1/2 cup of oat milk creamer (to make it sweeter), then crushed up oreos. I let the machine run for about 10 minutes, after the 10 minutes I wanted it a little thicker so I threw the bowl back in the freezer for another 10 minutes and the consistency was a bit harder than soft serve ice cream! I think another 30 minutes or so would have made it much harder but I preferred it a little soft. I love that you can completely customize your ice cream since we have family members with dairy allergies. Overall, super easy to use, easy to clean, and love that you can make a new flavor every night!! Great alternative to expensive ice cream makers

I finally got around to giving this little gadget a try. I had the bowls in the freezer for several weeks and got tired of digging around them, so I decided to make some orange sherbet. When I first started it up, it didn't look or sound like it would really do much . It ran for a while not sounding any different and still looking quite runny, but then - suddenly - it started sounding like it was working a little harder every minute. And, finally, voila... it went from liquid to more of a solid form right before my eyes. It never got super solid, but it did firm up quite a bit.
It was a little tricky pouring liquid into the tiny little chute while it was running. Some went down the sides a bit.
Overall, though, it was easy to use and easy to clean up. If you freeze more than one bowl, they do take up a lot of precious freezer space. The paddle feels a little flimsy, but seemed to do the job.
The first one I received had a leaky bowl, but Amazon replaced it immediately and the second set arrived in perfect condition.
I'm looking forward to making actual ice cream instead of sherbet. You can't beat a good homemade vanilla ice cream!

I received this as a christmas gift and it is one of the best things ever! I froze the two mugs for a couple of days, got all my ingredients together and away we went. I made a simple vanilla soft serve for the first batch as I made homemade vanilla extract with bourbon instead of vodka I've been dying to use and it was finally ready. It was the best soft serve! I like my ice cream a little "soupy" so this was perfect. The mug remained cold enough for the soft serve to hold its shape as you eat it. I think I had mine out for at least an hour and it was STILL cold enough that the last bits were freezing to the sides. I would highly recommend this product if you're a fan of quick sweet treats! It is so easy to use and clean, you really can't go wrong. It's not too loud, my cats are skiddish and they didn't really react to it when I turned it on. They heard it but it did not scare them so that was nice.
